About Us

The Village of River Hill is Columbia’s final village and is composed of two residential neighborhoods: Pheasant Ridge and Pointer’s Run.  River Hill includes 2,096 dwelling units; the River Hill Village Shopping Center; the River Hill Community Association Offices at Claret Hall; the River Hill Outdoor Pool and adjacent Meeting Room; and the Columbia Gym operated by the Columbia Association.

Naming Background

Prior to being contructed, the Village of River Hill was the site of a game farm. The streets are named after the works of Walt Whitman and James Whitcomb Riley. Pheasant Ridge was a land grant patented to Henry Howard in 1745.

Village Board of Directors meetings are typically held the first and third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. The Resident Architectural Committee usually meets the first and third Wednesday of every month and the meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.
